What is Pace Race?

Pace Race is an innovative running event that combines competitive running with community, fun, excitement, and a festival vibes.
The focus is on a simple but radical principle: You run as many Laps as you can – while the pace increases with each lap.

PACE RACE - A NEW RUNNING EVENT

Unlike traditional running events such as 5K races, 10K races, half marathons, or marathons, Pace Race is not about a fixed distance, but about your personal performance limit.

All participants start together.
Running is done in 1,000-meter Laps, with 60 second breaks between the Laps.
After each Lap, the specified pace (cot-off time) gets faster. Those who can no longer maintain the pace drop out – but remain part of the event.

How does Pace Race work exactly?

The procedure is simple:

  • All runners start together

  • Each Lap is 1,000 meters long

  • After each Lap there is a 60 seconds break

  • With each Lap the pace increases

  • Whoever doesn't make the time is out of the race - but immediately joins the Cheering Zone near the finish line.

  • The race continues until only a few runners are left running. The others celebrate and cheer.

You decide for yourself how far you go.

Our DNA

We like to describe PACE RACE in 3 short sentences:

// Faster Every Lap

Faster Every Lap // BEAT the Pace

//Faster Every Lap

This is exactly what Pace Race is all about. Every Lap getting faster.

// BEAT the Pace

// BEAT the Pace

// BEAT the Pace

You are not primarily competing against others in the PACE RACE, but with and alongside others. It's you vs. you - and against the clock.

// WE CELEBRATE RUNNING

// WE CELEBRATE RUNNING

// WE CELEBRATE RUNNING

We love running and anyone who enjoys it, too. So let's Celebrate Running. Preferably together. In the Cheering Zone, right after the finish.

So, feel free to call these 3 the PACE RACE mottos.

Knockout-style instead of a traditional finish

Pace Race follows the principle of a knockout race.
That means:

  • No "all or nothing" like in a marathon

  • No early over-pacing

  • No lonely suffering on the track

Instead:

  • Every Lap is a new goal

  • Every Lap brings excitement

  • Every Lap has a start and a finish line

  • Every Lap connects runners and spectators

Why Pace Race is different from other running competitions

We are excited about community: Everyone belongs – until the end

  1. Those who drop out do not go home.
    Runners become cheerers, competition on the track turns into community in the cheering zone.

  2. A running event with a vibe

Music, countdowns, cheers, emotions – Pace Race feels more like a sports festival than a classic race. Because everyone who lines up at the start is a participant, but sooner or later also becomes a spectator.

3. Fair & inclusive

No matter if beginner or ambitious runner:
Everyone starts together. Everyone celebrates together at the end. And still, everyone finds their individual PACE RACE level, where they drop out of the run and switch to the cheering zone.

Who is Pace Race for?

In short: Almost everyone!

Pace Race is aimed at:

  • Runners who want more than the standard 5K run, 10K run, half marathon, etc.

  • Friends of runners who might not necessarily consider themselves "running fans." They can still run the first laps with their friends.

  • Basically, all people (6 years and older) who appreciate shared experiences

  • Sports enthusiasts looking for a new running event

  • Communities, run clubs, and teams

  • Spectators who want to be part of the action.

Pace Race connects:
